A man arrested on suspicion of stabbing three people to death in a terror attack at a park in Reading had come from Libya and was known to MI5.
Khairi Saadallah, who is 25, had come to the attention of the security service last year but was not considered to be an “immediate risk”.
The attack took place at Forbury Gardens in the centre of Reading on Saturday evening. The suspect was arrested at the scene. Later police carried out a raid at a block of flats in the town.
One of those who died has been named as James Furlong, a 36-year-old teacher. His family has described him as a wonderful, beautiful and intelligent man.
